Law Tigers and Esmeralda Garcia are campaign organizers for Edgar Garcia Valencia.
Hi, my name is Esmeralda Garcia, and I’m reaching out for help for my brother, Edgar Garcia Valencia, who was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on October 22, 2025, in California. Edgar was riding home from work around 5:00 p.m. on his Suzuki SV650 when a vehicle entered his path unexpectedly, leaving him no time to avoid the crash. The impact threw him from his bike, leaving him in immediate and intense pain as bystanders rushed to call 911.
Paramedics and police arrived quickly. They cut away his clothing inside the ambulance so they could stabilize and assess his injuries, and he was rushed to Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, a trauma-center facility equipped to handle the extent of his injuries. There, doctors performed CT scans and X-rays that confirmed a dislocated elbow as well as multiple fractures in his wrist and arm just below the elbow.
That night, surgeons had to anesthetize him to reposition his elbow, and the next morning, he underwent major surgery to implant a surgical plate and screws to stabilize the fractures. Edgar is now facing at least eight weeks in a sling and soft cast while his dominant hand — his right arm — heals. He will also require physical therapy to regain mobility and strength. He is scheduled to see both his primary care physician and his orthopedic specialist this week for further evaluations.
Edgar has worked for California Water as a locator for the past three years. Unfortunately, he does not have sick-pay coverage, so being placed on medical leave means he has no income for the foreseeable future. His rent, groceries, insurance, and basic living expenses are already piling up, and medical bills will soon follow.
Edgar lives an active life — he loves running with his German Shepherd/Husky, Kenzo, cooking at home, and riding his motorcycle — but right now, he cannot do any of those things. He simply needs time, care, therapy, and stability while his body heals from this traumatic event.
We are asking for help in whatever way you’re able. Over the next eight weeks, Edgar will likely need $3,500–$5,000 just to cover his day-to-day living expenses while he heals. Whether someone is able to donate $30, $100, or even more if they’re in the position to, every single contribution makes a real difference. If you’re unable to give financially, a share of this campaign would still mean so much in helping us reach others who may be able to help. It’s really hard for Edgar to ask for this kind of help.
From our family to yours — thank you for supporting Edgar during his recovery and for showing him he’s not facing this alone.
