Hi everyone,

My name is Jaydon Rogers, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my amazing parents, Lance and Kathi Rogers. I still can’t believe this happened to them. Just a few days ago, they were out riding together like they love to do, enjoying time with each other. In a moment, everything changed.

On February 28, 2026, my parents were involved in a devastating motorcycle accident in Galveston, Texas when a vehicle attempted to make a left turn across traffic and struck them. What should have been a normal ride turned into a life-altering crash.

Both of my parents are still in the hospital.

My dad, Lance, is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) because of serious breathing complications related to his injuries. He has already undergone four surgeries and will require additional surgeries to his leg, knee, and shoulder in the coming weeks as doctors work to repair the extensive damage from the crash.

My mom, Kathi, also suffered serious injuries and had surgery on her left leg the day after the accident. She is still recovering and facing a long road ahead.

One moment from the accident says everything about the kind of dad and husband my father is. The very first thing my dad said after the crash was, “Kathi, are you okay?” Even though he must have been in extreme pain from his own injuries, his first concern was for my mom. That’s the kind of man he is, and that’s the incredible dad I have.

My dad serves as a Chaplain for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, dedicating his life to supporting and ministering to others during some of the hardest moments of their lives. My mom works from her home office for Green Imaging and has always been the steady support behind our family.

More than anything, my parents are people of deep faith. They are active members of Coastal Community Baptist Church in Galveston, and our family motto has always been “Live on Mission.” To them, that means loving people well, helping others, and serving wherever they are called.

Our family is also proud to serve our community in other ways. My father and I are proud Texas Freemasons and Shriners, organizations dedicated to brotherhood, charity, and helping others in need.

Anyone who knows my parents knows how special they are. They are loving, kind, witty, and incredibly generous people who truly care about everyone they meet. They love Jesus, they love people, and they’ve spent their lives pouring into others.

My dad would probably want me to mention that he believes he’s the funniest person he knows — and honestly, he might be right.

Right now, our family is facing an overwhelming situation. With multiple surgeries, long hospital stays, rehabilitation, and time away from work, the medical bills and living expenses are quickly adding up.

We’re asking for help so my parents can focus on healing instead of worrying about how everything will be paid for.

If you’re able to give, share, or simply keep them in your prayers, it would mean the world to our family.

Thank you for supporting Lance and Kathi during this incredibly difficult time.

Jaydon Rogers 🙏❤️

Back in the Hospital — We Need Your Support

Dad was home for less than a day before his condition changed again, and he had to be taken back to the hospital.

He has since been admitted and is currently receiving ongoing medical treatment, including IV antibiotics.

There have been brief moments where he’s been more alert, but he remains under close medical care and we are taking things day by day.

This continues to be incredibly difficult on our family.

Dad is on disability, my mom is working as much as she can, and I’ve had to take unpaid leave to help care for them and get them to appointments. The financial pressure is building, and we know this journey is far from over.

If you’ve already supported us, thank you — it truly means everything.

If you’re able to help or share, we would be deeply grateful. Your support is making a real difference for our family during this time.

Thank you for standing with us.

To our friends, family, and generous donors,

We want to provide a brief update on Lance and Kathi Rogers following their motorcycle accident and ongoing recovery journey.
Since the accident, Kathi has remained by Lance’s side, staying with him consistently, while Jaydon has been making daily trips and is fully responsible for coordinating and managing their medical appointments and care logistics during this time.

Lance was discharged from the hospital on 04/01 and transferred to a rehabilitation facility to continue his recovery. Unfortunately, he developed another infection and was transported back to the ER on 04/15. He has since been readmitted to the hospital, where the medical team is actively working to treat and eliminate the infection.

This has been a difficult and unpredictable setback in what has already been a long recovery process. We are grateful for the continued prayers, support, and generosity shown to the family during this time.

Lance also has additional surgeries down the road.

We will continue to share updates as they become available. Thank you for standing with them.

    With gratitude,
    The Rogers Family

    Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

On behalf of my parents and our entire family, I want to sincerely thank everyone who has prayed for us and donated during this incredibly difficult time following my parents’ motorcycle accident. The outpouring of love and support has been overwhelming and has reminded me just how many lives my parents have touched throughout their long and fruitful lives.

I especially want to acknowledge our seminary family, the Birchman community, our TDCJ family, our police and first responder brothers and sisters, our Coastal Community Church family here in Galveston, and our Freemason brothers and Shriners. We are also deeply grateful to the many churches my dad had the privilege of pastoring over the years, and to those connected to Naylor Children’s Center, where my mom spent so many years helping raise and caring for children. From lifelong friends who have known us since day one, to new friends and members of the community who have stepped in with support, your kindness means more than words can express.

Mom’s leg will require months of rehabilitation, but we are incredibly grateful that she is alive and recovering. Dad remains in the ICU and has undergone several surgeries with a few more ahead, but we are thankful that his oxygen levels are improving and that he continues to fight.

Your prayers, encouragement, and generosity have carried our family through these early days, and we truly see the lasting impact my parents have had through the love being shown to them now.

God bless each and every one of you.

    With heartfelt gratitude,

    The Rogers Family
