My name is Noah Wellington, and I never thought I’d find myself in a position where I needed to ask for help like this.

Just yesterday, April 14th, I was on my way home riding through downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, when everything changed in a matter of seconds.

Traffic was shifting around me — one car tried to merge into my lane, forcing me to accelerate to avoid getting hit. As I approached an intersection, another vehicle in front of me suddenly tried to merge right to make a turn and slammed on their brakes.

I didn’t have time to react.

I collided with the back of the car and was thrown off my bike.

The impact left me with a broken left clavicle, contusions along the left side of my body, and road rash down my left leg. Right now, I can barely put weight on my left side because of the pain.

Tomorrow, I’m going to see an orthopedic surgeon to find out if I’ll need surgery. There are still a lot of unknowns, and it’s been overwhelming trying to process everything.

I work as a semi diesel mechanic at Midwest Motor Express in Mounds View, and I truly love what I do. The people I work with mean a lot to me, and I take pride in showing up every day and working hard.

I’m also proud to serve in the Minnesota Army National Guard, where I’ve always tried to live by one simple value — be there for others when they need you.

That’s how I’ve always lived my life. I’m usually the first person to step up and help someone else.

But asking for help like this… it’s not easy for me.

As a result of my accident, I am unable to work right now, and with the possibility of surgery ahead, I’m facing medical and living expenses during this difficult time.

I hate having to ask, but right now, I truly need support.
