My name is Donna Gillane, and my dear son Michael Gillane was in a horrible accident just a couple of days ago that has shaken our family to the core.

On February 1, 2026, Michael was riding his motorcycle when he was struck in a hit-and-run collision. The impact was so severe that he was thrown from his motorcycle and slid an estimated 50 to 80 yards across the roadway. The driver fled the scene, leaving Michael injured and alone, though we are grateful that the driver was later apprehended and is now in police custody.

As a result of the accident, Michael suffered burn injuries to his right leg, requiring medical attention and ongoing care. While we are still learning the full extent of his injuries and recovery timeline, the pain and trauma from this incident have already been overwhelming—both physically and emotionally.

Michael has always lived his life by a simple but powerful motto: “Do unto others as you would want them to do unto you.” He’s the kind of person who shows up for others without hesitation, and seeing him now in need of help has been incredibly difficult for all of us.

As medical bills begin to pile up and everyday living expenses continue, Michael needs support to help cover the cost of treatment, recovery, and basic daily needs while he focuses on healing. No one expects their life to change in a moment like this, and we are doing everything we can to support him through this painful and uncertain time.
