My name is Ricardo Peña and my good friend Luis Torres was in a horrible accident just a couple of days ago that has completely changed his life in an instant.

 On January 29, 2026, Luis was riding his motorcycle in Pearland, Texas, on his way to meet a friend nearby. While he was on a turning lane, another driver struck him from behind, rammed him , clipping his bike causing Luis to flip off his motorcycle , the driver didn’t stop immediately instead he proceeded to go forward crushing partially his neck and mostly crushing his entire left arm missing his head by 1 inch with a 3500lb vehicle ( Honda odyssey )  . Police were already being contacted minutes prior because the driver had been reported for reckless driving before the crash even occurred.

Luis was transported to the hospital by ambulance and treated for extensive injuries, including numbness , pain and inability to move  from his shoulder down to his fingers, an inability to feel his left arm & hand , severe bruising, road rash, neck sprain, headaches, and trauma that’s now affecting his sleep. Right now, Luis cannot move his arm , and doctors are still working to understand the full extent of his neurological injuries.

Before this accident, Luis was constantly working day to night every hour every minute . He made a living as a barber, a car detailer, partially uber driver ,and also helped his father with the family fruit business and any other job that came in the way, despite what it was, Luis is a really hard worker with his hands, he loved creating art and making people happy with his services or duty . All of these jobs entirely depend on a heavy use of his arms and hands — and at the moment, he can’t use it at all.

With no ability to work and mounting medical needs, Luis now needs help covering medical bills as well as basic everyday living expenses while he focuses on recovery and further treatment. The days ahead are uncertain, and the financial pressure is already beginning to build.
