On September 15, 2026, my wife Shanny and I were involved in a serious motorcycle accident while traveling in Virginia. In a matter of seconds, everything changed for our family.

We were both taken to the hospital, but Shanny suffered the most serious injuries. Her femur was fractured, requiring surgery to place a titanium rod and screws in her leg. She also suffered multiple broken ribs and spent several days in the hospital before finally being released.

She's home now, but recovery is going to take time. Doctors have her using a walker and want her up and moving, but even the simplest things are difficult right now.

I was fortunate to avoid the same level of injury, but I still suffered road rash, significant bruising and soreness, and a sprained ankle.

Through everything, we keep coming back to the same truth: the Lord had His hand on us that day. This accident could have ended so differently, and we're incredibly thankful that we're still here together.

Shanny and I have been married for 25 years. We've been blessed with three amazing children, a grandson, and several other young people who have come to see us as family and parents in their lives. Family and faith have always been at the center of who we are.

We're members of One City Church in Beaumont, Texas, and I'm also part of the Bikers for Christ Beaumont Chapter. Our faith and community mean more to us now than ever.

We're usually the people trying to help others, which makes asking for help difficult. But with Shanny facing a long recovery, we know we can't do this alone.
