Hi Everyone,

I'm not someone who asks for help, but here I am.

March 3rd started like any other early morning. I had recently been promoted to AR/AP at my company after four years as a dispatcher, and I was excited to get in early and hit the ground running. I hopped on my motorcycle, enjoying the quiet roads the way I always do.

I never made it to work.

At around 7:00 AM, traveling south on 87th in Southerland Springs, a driver blew through a stop sign and pulled out directly in front of me. He T-boned me. My bike stopped dead. I did not. I flew approximately 15 to 20 feet before hitting the ground.

I spent three days in the hospital. My left knee was shattered and required surgery with at least six screws to hold it together. Five staples closed my chin where they said I lost a pint of blood. One broken and one shattered toe on my left foot, both with open fractures. I cannot lift my right arm. I will not be able to bend my leg for six to eight weeks, and it will be three months before I can start trying to walk again.

The timing could not be harder. My wife Kim was taking care of my mom who suffered from vascular dementia. However we had to put my mom in a nursing home so that Kim could go to Houston to care for her father after her mom passed away in November. Due to this I am the sole breadwinner in our family. Just weeks before this, our daughter moved out and we barely had time to breathe before our world changed completely. Since she couldn't be in two places at once, my wife returned immediately, with her father in tow, to take care of both her dad and I during my recovery.
