On September 29, 2026, I was heading into town to grab some dinner and spend time with friends when I was involved in a serious accident.

What was supposed to be a relaxing evening quickly turned into a trip to the hospital and the beginning of a difficult recovery.

I was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where I spent several hours undergoing CT scans, X rays, and other testing.

I suffered painful road rash on my right ankle, forearms, left calf, and left elbow, along with significant swelling and injuries to my hips, right shoulder, right ankle, and right arm. I still do not have full range of motion in my arm, and moving it remains painful.

I have follow-up medical appointments ahead, including additional imaging and physical therapy, as doctors continue evaluating my injuries.

Before the accident, I was making ends meet through different jobs, including cutting and delivering firewood. It is extremely physical work. I have to go into the woods, cut the wood, load it, split it, and then unload it for customers.

Right now, I simply cannot do that.

I am also a Navy veteran and a father. I have two sons and two stepchildren, and they mean everything to me. At home, I also have three dogs that are part of the family.

I have always tried to be the person who helps others whenever I can. Over the years, I have helped friends with their own fundraisers and supported people when they were going through difficult times.

Now I find myself on the other side of that situation.

Funds raised through HelpVy will help with my medical and everyday living expenses while I continue treatment, go through physical therapy, and work toward being able to earn an income again.
