I can't believe I'm writing this story.

On June 3, 2026, I was simply out enjoying retirement on a motorcycle ride when my life changed in an instant.

As I was riding through Longmont, Colorado, another driver turned left directly in front of me. I had no time to avoid the collision, and the impact left me fighting for my life.

Looking back, I thank God every day that I survived because I know this accident could have been so much worse.

I was first taken to the hospital in Longmont before being flown by Flight for Life to St. Anthony Hospital. I spent 10 days in the Intensive Care Unit, and while I am thankful to finally be home, my recovery is far from over.

My injuries are extensive. I suffered 11 broken ribs, a broken left arm, a fractured left shoulder, a concussion, and lacerations to my spleen and kidney. Every day brings new doctor's appointments, treatments, and challenges as I work toward healing.

Anyone who knows me knows that I enjoy staying active and making the most of retirement. I never imagined that a simple joy ride would change my life so dramatically.

The medical bills continue to grow, and I have not even received the bill for the Flight for Life helicopter transport.

The funds raised will help with medical expenses and everyday living expenses while I continue this long journey toward recovery.
