I never imagined a quick trip to grab some food would turn my life upside down.

On July 27, 2026, I had just picked up Chick-fil-A and stopped for a couple of drinks before heading home. Not long afterward, I was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. The last thing I personally remember is leaving the store. Everything about the accident itself has had to be told to me by other people.

I was hospitalized for about 10 days. I suffered two brain bleeds that caused a seizure, fractures in both hands, a severely shattered left thumb, and neurological problems affecting my left leg. At first, I had what doctors called foot drop. Now my leg shakes when I put weight on it, and physical therapy is helping me retrain my body to work normally again.

I'm incredibly thankful I was wearing my helmet.

Before the accident, I worked wiring homes for an audio-video and home automation company, installing everything from home theaters and cameras to Wi-Fi and other technology. I enjoyed my work, but I haven't been able to return since the accident. As a result of the seizure, I currently cannot drive, which creates another major obstacle to returning to my job and living independently.

The financial struggle has become very real. I've already had to move my dog back to my parents' home, and I may soon need to move back there myself while I continue recovering.

I've always been more comfortable helping and supporting others than asking people to help me. Starting this campaign isn't easy, but right now even a little support could make a meaningful difference.

Funds raised through HelpVy will help with my medical and everyday living expenses while I continue physical therapy, recover from my injuries, and work toward getting my independence and career back.

If you're able to donate or share my story, I would be incredibly grateful.
