On Saturday, June 6, 2026, my boyfriend, a couple of friends, and I went out for what was supposed to be a relaxing motorcycle ride. We rode from Lexington SC for several hours to Oconee County. We had reservations for the night and plans for the weekend. None of us imagined how quickly everything would change.

While riding on Coffee Road in Oconee County, I was making a U-turn when my front tire went off of the asphalt, back tire slid down the steep embankment. I tried to correct , caught asphalt drop again. That’s when I lost control of my motorcycle and crashed. 

Looking back, I thank God every day that I was able to walk away with my life. It could have been so much worse.

My injuries were severe. I suffered a broken right ankle, torn ligaments and tendons and a separation of my talus in my right foot and ankle, and required two surgeries on June 15 to repair the fractures, reattach the ligaments and tendons, and insert screws and  plate to stabilize everything.

For the past month, I've been in a cast and will need to remain in it for several more weeks before going into a boot and beginning physical therapy. My doctors have told me that my recovery will be a long one, and I could be out of work for three to six months.

The loves of my life are my amazing, very hardworking man of seven years, my beautiful family , especially my loving mother that I have been caring for(but am unable to right now due to my injuries), my job that I love and my riding family. They are my greatest motivation to heal and get back on my feet.

Being unable to work has created an unexpected financial burden at a time when my focus needs to be on recovery instead of worrying about bills.

The funds raised will help with medical expenses and everyday living expenses while I heal and work toward getting back to the people I love.
