My name is Julio Aragon, and I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this.

This accident happened on what started as a beautiful day, as I was on my way to work. In a matter of seconds, everything changed.

I was riding my motorcycle when a car side-swiped me from behind, hitting my right leg and sending me off my bike. I rolled across the ground, not knowing how bad it was going to be.

I was taken to the hospital, and thankfully, I am now out of the hospital, but I’m still dealing with injuries including a swollen right leg and scrapes on my elbow.

Since the accident, I have been on bed rest and am currently unable to move much at all. I have severe contusions that my doctor expects could take up to three months for a full recovery, and it is very difficult for me to walk on my right leg right now.

I work as an ironworker with Local 5 Iron Workers, and my job requires full mobility — climbing, balancing, and walking on high beams. At the moment, that’s something I simply cannot do.

I’m also a handyman, and I’ve always been the kind of person who is first to help others whenever they need it.

More than anything, I’m a provider. I love my girlfriend and my five children, and being the breadwinner for my family means everything to me.

This accident has impacted every part of my daily life. I’m currently unable to do simple things like cook meals (something I truly enjoy), take care of household chores like mowing the lawn or taking out the trash, and I’m even missing out on my kids’ soccer games, which has been especially hard.

Since the accident, I haven’t been able to work, which has already resulted in a loss of income, and I’ve missed several days of work. My doctor has said I may be able to return around June 1, 2026, but that is still uncertain and depends on my recovery.

As a result, I need help covering financial and living expenses for the next couple of months while I heal.

Asking for help is not easy for me, but right now, I truly need it.
