I can't believe I'm writing this story and asking people for help, but after what I've been through over the past few weeks, I realize I can't do this alone.
On August 8, 2026, I was riding my motorcycle in South Dakota with two buddies when my life changed in a matter of seconds.
A sleeping bag came loose from my bike. When I reached for it, I hit the rumble strips and the motorcycle began to wobble. I tried to regain control, but I went into the dirt and the bike slammed onto its side. I slid along the median before being thrown from the motorcycle and landing hard, hitting my head.
I suffered four broken ribs, a brain hemorrhage, and significant road rash.
The broken ribs and road rash are painful, but the injury to my head has been especially concerning. I'm supposed to see a neurologist, and just yesterday I became dizzy enough that I went back to the hospital, where they performed another CT scan.
It's scary not knowing exactly what the road ahead will look like, especially when you're dealing with an injury involving your brain. Right now, I'm trying to listen to my doctors, take care of myself, and give my body the time it needs to heal.
Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a hardworking guy. Working isn't just how I make a living. It's a huge part of who I am.
I own Bones Kustom Cycles LLC, where I get to work around motorcycles and serve customers who share the same passion I do. I'm also a Lease Optimization Operator for Devon Energy. I love both of my jobs, the people I work with, and the customers I've gotten to know through my business.
Being injured and unable to work like I normally do has been extremely difficult for me, both personally and financially.
Through everything that has happened, my girlfriend Misty has been an absolute saint. She has been right there helping me since the accident, making sure I'm taken care of and supporting me through some very difficult days. I don't know what I would have done without her.
I'm grateful to be here. After being thrown from a motorcycle and suffering injuries like these, I know things could have turned out very differently.
But I'm also facing the reality that recovery is going to take time. With additional medical care ahead, including seeing a neurologist, and my ability to work affected by my injuries, the financial pressure is beginning to build.
The funds raised through this campaign will help with medical expenses and everyday living expenses while I continue recovering and work toward getting back to the jobs, customers, coworkers, and life that mean so much to me.
Asking for help isn't easy, but sometimes life puts you in a position where you have to accept the same kind of support you would give someone else.
If you're able to donate, share my story, or keep Misty and me in your thoughts and prayers, I would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you for standing beside us while I continue down this road to recovery.
