My name is Joanne, and my husband Keith and I are organizing this campaign for our son, Jon Zech, after he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident just eight days ago.

It is the worst call a parent can ever receive when someone on the other end of the phone tells you your child has been in a serious accident. In this case, our son.

Right now, Jon remains in the ICU, and our family is taking things one day at a time while praying for his continued healing and recovery.

Jon suffered significant injuries, including both bones in his right forearm being broken, multiple right side rib fractures, and a broken clavicle (collar bone) on his right side extending toward his right scapula (shoulder blade), which is also broken. He also suffered a deep laceration above his right knee that caused his knee joint to be open and muscles and tendons to be severed. In addition, Jon suffered a liver laceration, a kidney laceration, and multiple other injuries and contusions. Jon has already undergone multiple surgeries since the accident.

Jon is prior Active Duty military and is currently a proud member of the Alabama National Guard stationed in Fort Payne, Alabama. He also works at Adventure Powersports, where he truly loves the people he works with and the customers he meets every day. Motorcycles and cars have always been one of his greatest passions.

As his mother, I can honestly say Jon is one of the most loving, dedicated, and hardworking young men I know, and our family is incredibly proud of him. He loves his family and friends deeply and is always spending time with the people he cares about most.

With Jon unable to work and such a long recovery ahead, the medical expenses and daily living costs are already beginning to add up. We are asking for help so Jon can focus fully on healing and recovery during this difficult time.
