I never imagined I would be writing a crowdfunding story for my son, Jeran. As a mother, there are certain phone calls you pray you will never receive, and on Thursday, September 10, 2026, I received one of them.
Jeran was on his way home when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident on Highway 43 in Gentry, Arkansas. A call came through to my phone from a number I didn't recognize, so I didn't answer it. Then I listened to the voicemail and heard my son's voice: "Mom, I've been in a bad accident." My heart sank. I immediately called the number back, realized how serious the situation was, and rushed to the hospital to be by his side.
When I walked into the emergency room and saw Jeran, I was terrified. For a moment, I truly thought I might lose my son. I thank God that Jeran is still here with us and that this accident was not as devastating as I feared in those first moments.
Jeran suffered a concussion, broken ribs, a broken nose, a shattered clavicle, and injuries to his head that required several staples. Today, he is seeing an orthopedic surgeon to determine whether surgery will be necessary for his shattered clavicle, and additional medical care may also be needed for his nose. There are still many unanswered questions about what his recovery will require and how long it will take.
Anyone who knows Jeran knows what a special person he is. He is full of life, caring, hardworking, incredibly helpful, and generous to a fault. He has one of those hearts that makes him want to step in whenever someone else needs help. Jeran has always been the first person to help and the last person to ask for help himself, which makes being in this position especially difficult for him.
At the time of the accident, Jeran was working two jobs. During the day, he worked in a siding and gutter installation business, and in the evenings, he worked as a mechanic. That tells you a lot about his work ethic. Unfortunately, because of his injuries, he has now lost both jobs, creating an immediate financial hardship at the same time that medical expenses are beginning to add up.
Our faith is very important to our family. We are part of The Assembly Siloam Springs, and throughout this frightening experience we truly believe God has been watching over Jeran. In those first moments at the hospital, all I could do was pray. Today, I am incredibly grateful that my son is still here and has the opportunity to heal.
Jeran has spent so much of his life helping other people. Now, during one of the most difficult chapters of his life, he is the one who needs people to stand beside him.
The funds raised through this HelpVy campaign will help with Jeran's medical expenses and everyday living expenses while he continues treatment, recovers from his injuries, and works toward rebuilding his life and eventually returning to work.
If you are able to donate, our family would be incredibly grateful. If you aren't able to contribute financially, please consider sharing Jeran's story and keeping him in your prayers.
I thank God every day that I still have my son. Now our focus is helping Jeran heal and getting him through the difficult road ahead.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, prayers, and support.
