My name is Jacob Selby, and I never imagined I would be in a position where I needed to ask for help like this.

A couple of weeks ago, my life changed in an instant. I was on my way to my brother’s house for breakfast, less than a quarter mile from home, when a driver pulled out in front of me while attempting to make a left hand turn. The accident was devastating, and I was rushed to the hospital, where I still remain.

I suffered a shattered right tibia and fibula, a broken left hip and pelvis, a broken left thumb, and a large laceration on my elbow. I have already undergone one surgery on my right leg where rods and screws were placed, and doctors have told me that another surgery will likely be needed.

I am a medically retired Army veteran, a proud father of four amazing kids, and someone who has always tried to be there for others whenever they needed help.

I had recently started a new job in education development, working in wiring and fabrication, and I was truly excited about this new chapter in my life. I also share a special bond with my daughter, and together we started a car club called AfterDark_AZ, which means so much to both of us.

Right now, everything has been put on hold. Due to the severity of my injuries, I will be unable to work for a long time, and the financial pressure is already becoming overwhelming. I am asking for help with living expenses and medical costs so I can focus on healing and being there for my children.
