Law Tigers and Ashlie Hayes are campaign organizers for Isaiah Massey.

There are certain phone calls you never expect to receive from the person you love. On Thursday, August 27, 2026, my partner of 18 years, Isaiah, called me and told me he had been in a bad motorcycle accident. My heart dropped. Isaiah was in severe pain, and the phone was soon passed to a witness at the scene. Then, a responding police officer got on the phone and told me which hospital Isaiah was being transported to by ambulance. I immediately rushed to be by his side.

I actually arrived at the hospital before Isaiah did. Waiting there for the ambulance, knowing he was hurt but not knowing exactly what condition he was in, was incredibly frightening. Then I saw him. Seeing the person you love in that much pain is something you never forget. I was thankful he was alive and that I could finally be beside him, but seeing what he was going through was heartbreaking.

Isaiah had been riding home from work on the freeway when he was involved in a collision with a truck. He was knocked from his motorcycle and suffered a broken right shoulder with minimal movement in his right arm. Today, we met with the orthopedic surgeon, and we are now waiting for the results of his latest medical testing to determine whether Isaiah will need surgery on his shoulder. There are still so many unanswered questions about his recovery and how long it will be before he can get back to the life he had before this accident.

Isaiah and I have been together for 18 years, and we've built a beautiful life and family together. We have two amazing children, our 17 year old son and 7 year old daughter, along with our four dogs. Isaiah is a true family man. He works hard to make sure his family is taken care of, but being a provider is only part of who he is. He makes spending time with our children a priority. Being present for them, supporting them, and creating memories together means everything to him.

About six months ago, Isaiah started working in the Parts Department at Time Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Portland. It's been a great place for him to work, and he genuinely enjoys his job. He likes the people he works alongside and the customers he has the opportunity to serve. Being able to work, provide for his family, and do something he enjoys is important to him, which makes the uncertainty about when he will be able to return to work even more difficult.

Isaiah also belongs to FMG, FuzzyMotoGroup, a motorcycle community that believes in more than simply riding together. The group has partnered with the Make A Wish Foundation, giving back and helping support others. That spirit of giving describes Isaiah well. He's the first person to help someone else and the last person to ask for help himself. That's why being in this position and launching a crowdfunding campaign is so difficult for him.

With a serious shoulder injury, possible surgery ahead, and uncertainty about when Isaiah will be able to return to work, our family is now facing expenses we never planned for. The funds raised through this HelpVy campaign will help with Isaiah's medical expenses and our family's everyday living expenses while he focuses on healing and getting back on his feet.

If you're able to donate, we would be incredibly grateful. If you aren't able to give, sharing Isaiah's story with your family, friends, and community would mean so much to us. After 18 years together, I've watched Isaiah take care of our family and step up for other people countless times. Now it's our turn to be there for him.

Thank you for supporting Isaiah and our family as we face the road ahead together.
