Hi everyone, my name is Leilani, and a couple of weeks ago my younger brother, Ethan, was involved in a serious motorcycle accident after another driver did not see him.

One of the worst feelings as a sister is finding out your younger brother has been involved in a serious accident and waiting to hear if he will survive. Everything stops in those moments.

His injuries are extensive. Ethan suffered a crushed tibia, a broken femur, a fractured wrist, significant muscle damage in his leg, and road rash. To date, he has already undergone three surgeries, and doctors believe that two additional surgeries may still be necessary. We are so grateful he didn't suffer damage to his head or neck.

But the road to recovery will be long and painful.

He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he spent the last two weeks in the surgery wing before transferring to the rehabilitation wing, where his recovery is expected to take nearly three weeks.

Anyone who knows Ethan knows what an incredible person he is. He is extremely compassionate, grounded and endlessly curious. He finds something interesting in everything around him. He is adventurous, outgoing, and always eager to learn something new or help someone else.

Ethan is currently an engineering student at Utah State University, where he loves both his fellow students and his professors. Outside of school, he works for Thermal Management Technologies where one of the parts he helped work on is now on the moon. He also tutors at USU in the Engineering Math Resources Center and enjoys helping fellow students succeed.

Watching someone so active and hardworking suddenly face months of recovery has been incredibly difficult for our family.

The funds raised will help with medical expenses and everyday living expenses while Ethan focuses entirely on healing and rehabilitation.
