Law Tigers and Margaret Renzo are campaign organizers for Eddie Nielsen.
As a mother, there are phone calls you never want to receive. On September 10, 2026, my son Eddie called me, and I could immediately hear the pain in his voice.
“Mom, I just got in a motorcycle accident. I need you.”
I dropped everything and rushed to him. Those 15 minutes felt endless. Eddie had been involved in a serious motorcycle accident and needed emergency medical care. I thank God he was wearing the helmet his dad gave him because this could have ended so much worse.
Eddie suffered a Grade 3 AC separation in his right shoulder, leaving him unable to properly move or use his arm. He continues to deal with pain throughout his body, and shoulder surgery is scheduled for Tuesday.
Eddie is a loving, hardworking single father of two teenage boys, and they are his world. One of his sons plays football, while the other is learning the saxophone. Eddie wants nothing more than for his boys to continue enjoying the things they love and to have the stability every child deserves.
For years, Eddie has worked as a commercial construction plumber, a physically demanding job requiring him to regularly lift 70 to 80 pounds overhead. With his shoulder severely injured, he cannot work, his employer has no light-duty position available, and he has no short-term disability benefits.
As his mom, my greatest fear is that without an income, Eddie may not be able to keep up with the rent and could lose the home he provides for his boys. I don't want to see this accident take away their home, their stability, and the activities that mean so much to them.
That's why I'm starting this HelpVy campaign. Funds raised will help with Eddie's medical and everyday living expenses while he heals and works toward returning to the job he loves.
If you can donate or share Eddie's story, our family would be deeply grateful.
