Hi everyone, my name is Dusten Jacobs, and I never imagined I would be writing something like this, especially while confined to a wheelchair.

On Wednesday, March 11, 2026, I was riding my motorcycle home from the store. I had just gone out to pick up a few things so I could cook dinner for my family. My wife and our two little kids, ages 4 and 1, were waiting for me at home.

On my way back, I was involved in a motorcycle accident at an intersection in Live Oak, California. The crash left me seriously injured, and an ambulance took me to the hospital where I spent about six hours receiving treatment.

The doctors told me that I broke my right ankle, and I’m also dealing with significant swelling in my leg and bruising to my lungs. Right now I am stuck in a wheelchair and struggling with even the most basic things. I can’t even go to the bathroom by myself right now, which has been incredibly difficult and humbling.

I work as a truck driver, and because of my injuries I’ve been told that I will likely be out of work for 6 to 8 weeks while I recover. As a husband and a father of two young children, not being able to work and provide for my family during this time has been extremely stressful.

Medical expenses and everyday living costs continue to add up while I’m unable to work, and the financial pressure is weighing heavily on our family while I focus on healing.

I decided to start this campaign because I need help getting through the next several weeks while I recover and work toward getting back on my feet. Any support, whether it’s a donation or simply sharing my story, would mean the world to my family and me.
