My name is Laura Whitworth, and I am writing this story for my son, Dillon.

One of the worst phone calls a mother can ever receive is when a social worker from a hospital calls to tell you that your child has been involved in a serious accident.

When I received that call, my heart sank.

As soon as I learned what had happened, I drove from Dallas to be by Dillon's side. Since then, I have remained at the hospital, sitting beside him, praying for his recovery and helping him through the difficult days ahead.

While Dillon's injuries are severe, we are incredibly thankful that the accident was not even worse. We know things could have turned out very differently, and we are grateful that he is still with us.

This past Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Dillon was involved in a motorcycle accident while riding to dinner with friends. During the crash, he was thrown into the bed of a truck and suffered devastating injuries.

Dillon's right femur was broken in three places, including a compound fracture where the bone broke through the skin. He also suffered a dislocated wrist, a dislocated leg, and a bruised lung.

He has already undergone surgery on his right femur, and as I write this, he is preparing for surgery on his wrist tomorrow. The road to recovery will be long, and there are still many challenges ahead.

Anyone who knows Dillon knows what an incredible young man he is. He is hardworking, dedicated, caring, loyal, and always willing to help others. He is the first person to lend a hand when someone needs help and the last person to ask for help himself.

Dillon works as a sales representative for Affordable Metal Buildings. He loves his job, the people he works with, and the customers he serves. He takes great pride in his work and in building relationships with the people around him.

Dillon is also a proud member of Bike Life Houston and enjoys the friendships and riding community that come with it.

With the accident happening only days ago, our family is still trying to process everything while helping Dillon focus on healing and recovery. Right now, our attention is on getting him through surgery, rehabilitation, and the long journey back to health.

The funds raised will help with medical expenses, everyday living expenses, and travel expenses while Dillon recovers.
