Hi everyone, my name is Shayla, and I am writing this story for my husband, David.

On July 15, 2026, David had just left my work, and I was driving behind him when our lives changed in an instant.

As David was riding past a Publix parking lot, a vehicle suddenly pulled out into his lane and struck the right side of his motorcycle. His right leg became pinned between the motorcycle and the vehicle before he came to a stop. 

An ambulance rushed David to the hospital, where he remained overnight.

David suffered a broken right ankle, along with bruising and abrasions to his right arm. He is now in a splint, uses crutches to get around, and cannot put any weight on his right leg for at least eight weeks. His road to recovery will require patience, determination, and time.

Anyone who knows David knows he is one of the hardest-working people you'll ever meet. He's a devoted husband and a hands-on dad who is always there for our family. Together, we are blessed with seven amazing children, including four younger children who still live at home and depend on him every day.

Seeing someone who is always taking care of everyone else suddenly unable to work and care for his family the way he wants has been incredibly difficult.

The funds raised will help with medical expenses and everyday living expenses while David focuses on healing and recovering.
