On September 27, 2026, I was heading home after dropping off food to a friend who works at a nearby hospital when I was involved in a serious accident.

I was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital and remained there overnight. I am incredibly grateful to be alive, but the days since the accident have been painful and difficult.

I suffered a partial amputation of the tip of my right finger, along with severe road rash on my left arm, lower back, and both legs, lower back pain, knee and hip pain, shoulder and neck pain, a sprained right ankle, and limited movement in my left arm.

Doctors performed CT scans, X rays, and an MRI to evaluate my injuries. The hardest part now has been the recovery at home. Almost everything hurts, and normal everyday activities have suddenly become difficult.

Before the accident, I worked long hours delivering orthopedic implants for Stryker out of their Houston operation. I only started there this summer, but it has already become my favorite job. I genuinely love the work and the people I work with.

Unfortunately, I am a 1099 worker, which means I do not have paid time off or benefits to fall back on. I have not been able to work since the accident, and the financial pressure started almost immediately.

I am also the father of two year old twin boys, who live with their mother.

My Christian faith is a huge part of who I am. When I think about what happened, I truly believe God is the reason I am still here.

I have always been more comfortable helping others than asking for help myself. I am usually the first person to help and the last person to ask for help.
