My name is Christopher Hatfield, and I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this.

On Easter Sunday, I was riding my motorcycle home after spending time with my grandmother — something I always cherish. What should have been a normal ride home turned into something that changed everything.

I was stopped at a red light, and as it turned green and I began to accelerate, I was rear-ended by someone driving a vehicle at around 50 miles per hour.

The impact was sudden and severe.

I was taken to the emergency room, where doctors diagnosed me with internal bruising, and I’m still dealing with intense pain. I believe I may have broken ribs, and I’ll be going back to the doctor to be checked again.

Since the accident, I’ve been having a hard time breathing, sleeping, and even lifting simple things.

I’m a pipe fitter plumber by trade, and I currently work as a handyman, helping others with whatever they need. It’s something I take pride in — being able to show up and make a difference for people.

Now, I can’t do that.

As a result of this accident, I’ll be out of work with no income coming in, and that’s been incredibly stressful.

Riding my motorcycle has always brought me a lot of joy and freedom. Right now, that’s been taken away from me too — and I don’t know when I’ll be able to ride again.

I’ve never been comfortable asking people for money. It’s not who I am.

But right now, I truly need help.

I’m asking for support to help cover living expenses while I focus on healing and getting back on my feet.
