On September 25, 2026, I was on my way to work at 6:35 in the morning when I was involved in a serious accident.

In a matter of seconds, my normal morning commute turned into something that has left me unable to work and facing a difficult recovery.

I suffered a fractured L12 vertebra in my back, two broken bones in my right foot, a lost tooth, extensive road rash, and a deep cut to my elbow that required four stitches.

I was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where doctors evaluated and treated my injuries before I was eventually released home.

The pain and limitations have followed me home.

Between the fracture in my back and the broken bones in my foot, getting around and doing normal everyday things is difficult. I am now waiting for my body to heal and for my doctors to determine what comes next.

Before the accident, I worked as an in house truck driving instructor for WEL Companies in Mustang, Oklahoma. I teach people how to drive semi-trucks, and I genuinely enjoy my job, the people I work with, and the students I have the opportunity to teach.

Driving and teaching require me to be physically capable of getting in and out of trucks, moving around safely, and staying completely focused.

Right now, I cannot do that, and I cannot work.

Thankfully, my girlfriend, Michelle Moore, has been by my side helping take care of me while I recover. Her support has meant more than I can say during a time when I suddenly have to depend on others for things I normally handle myself.

The bills do not stop just because you are injured and unable to earn a paycheck.

Funds raised through HelpVy will help with my medical and everyday living expenses while I recover and work toward the day I can get back to teaching, working, and living independently again.
