Asking for help has never been easy for me. I've spent much of my life taking care of other people, but after my motorcycle accident, I'm realizing that sometimes you have to let others help you too.

On August 10, 2026, I went out for a motorcycle ride and was involved in a serious accident in West Valley, Utah. My mom came to the scene and took me to the hospital, where I remained overnight and into the following afternoon.

I learned that my collarbone was broken in three places, and I also suffered two broken ribs and road rash across my shoulder, arm, hip, and knee. The damage to my collarbone was severe enough that I needed surgery, with two plates and screws placed to repair it.

I'm also a single mom to three children, ages 8, 7, and 4. My two boys and my little girl are my entire world, and recovering from an injury like this while trying to be the mom they depend on has been incredibly difficult.

For the past nine years, I've worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, caring for elderly patients, including people living with dementia and Alzheimer's. Caring for others has been part of my life since high school.

Just before the accident, I had several job interviews scheduled and was looking forward to getting back to work. Those plans suddenly disappeared when I was injured. Since then, I've been relying on credit cards for everyday expenses and watching the financial pressure grow.

I've always been the kind of person who would rather help someone else than ask for help myself. It took me more than a month after the accident to finally admit that I can't do this completely on my own.

That's why I'm starting this HelpVy campaign. Funds raised will help with my everyday living and medical expenses while I continue healing and work toward getting back to caring for my children and returning to the work I've done for so many years.
