Hi everyone, my name is Scotty Brymer, and I am writing this story while sitting beside my dad, Charles “Buddy” Brymer, in the hospital.

I can't believe I'm writing a fundraising story for my dad. Everything has happened so quickly, and our family is still trying to process just how serious this accident was.

On August 22, 2026, Dad was riding home after participating in a cruise to the Sons of the Confederacy Memorial. He was riding with his good friend and riding buddy, Danny Bower, when he was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident.

Dad was thrown from his motorcycle and suffered catastrophic injuries.

I will always be grateful that Danny was there. He stayed beside my dad after the accident until the ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital. Knowing Dad wasn't alone during those frightening moments means more to our family than I can put into words.

Dad's condition was extremely serious. On the way to the hospital, he suffered a heart attack, adding another frightening complication to injuries that were already severe.

Danny then made the hour and a half drive back to personally tell our family that Dad had been in a serious accident.

Today, I'm sitting beside Dad's hospital bed as he begins what we know will be an incredibly long recovery.

Buddy has already undergone major surgery. He suffered two broken femurs and a broken left tibia, and doctors also had to amputate one of the toes on his left foot.

We are grateful that he made it through surgery, but we also understand that this is only the beginning. His body has been through tremendous trauma, and there is a long road of healing and rehabilitation ahead of him.

If you know Buddy, you know the kind of man he is. He is hardworking, loving, and a devoted Christian. His faith has always been an important part of his life, and he belongs to Redeemed by Faith Full Gospel. During one of the most difficult moments our family has ever faced, we are leaning heavily on God and our faith.

Dad is also the kind of person who is the first to help someone else and the last one to ask for help himself. Asking others for financial support is not something that comes naturally to him, which is why I'm asking on his behalf.

Right now, Dad's only job should be healing and finding the strength to take each day as it comes.

The funds raised through this campaign will help with medical expenses and everyday living expenses as Buddy faces the long recovery ahead.
