On Sunday, August 23, 2026, my husband Beau was heading to work when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident.

With gas prices so high, Beau had been riding his motorcycle to work to help us save money. That morning, he tried to text me after the accident, but I was busy and didn't immediately see his messages. When I finally did, I called him, and Beau calmly told me he had been in an accident and had just gotten to the hospital.

The hospital was about 45 minutes away, and while I was driving there, I called him again. Beau said he would tell me everything when I arrived.

I told him, "No, tell me now. I'm going to call my mom and everyone else so they can start praying for you."

That's when I began to understand how serious this really was.

Beau had been riding to work when a vehicle entered his path. He was knocked unconscious on impact, and the collision caused him to wreck and slide before becoming pinned underneath his motorcycle.

His injuries are extensive. Beau suffered a brain bleed, seven different skull and facial fractures, six vertebrae fractures, a broken humerus near his shoulder, three broken ribs, a fractured ankle, a pulmonary embolism, significant road rash, and extensive bruising.

The following day brought one of the most terrifying moments of my life when Beau's body suddenly tensed up and he experienced a seizure. In that moment, I truly thought I could lose him.

Beau has since undergone surgery to repair his broken humerus, and he remains in the hospital today. His medical team is working to get his pain under control before he can be transferred to a rehabilitation center.

Even through everything he has endured, Beau's sense of humor and positive attitude are still very much there. Even when his pain has been extreme, he's found ways to crack jokes and make us laugh.

As a result of his traumatic brain injury, Beau has been extremely sensitive to light. When the hospital staff needed the lights on, we put sunglasses on him to make him more comfortable. In true Beau fashion, he started singing "I Wear My Sunglasses at Night." That's Beau. Even during some of the hardest moments of his life, he can still find a reason to smile and make the people around him smile too.

We know the road ahead will be long. Doctors have indicated that it could take approximately six months for Beau's shoulder to heal, with additional months before he fully recovers from everything his body has been through.

September was supposed to be such a special month for us. Next week, Beau and I will celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary, and just a few weeks later, we'll celebrate his birthday. I never imagined we would be approaching these milestones with Beau in a hospital bed.

Anyone who knows Beau knows what kind of man he is. He is hardworking, dedicated, loving, and the first person to help someone else and the last person who would ever ask for help himself.

Helping others has been a big part of Beau's life. For 13 years, he worked in ski patrol, responding when skiers were injured on the mountain and helping people through some of their most frightening moments.

Now, after spending so many years coming to the aid of others, Beau is the one who needs help.

Today, Beau works in maintenance at Bryce Canyon National Park. He loves his job and the people he works with. Being able to work, provide, and be independent has always been important to him.

He loves me, and he absolutely loves our three pups.

We have always been independent and taken care of ourselves. We recently bought our first fixer upper home and have slowly been working together to make it our own. Beau was looking forward to spending this fall and winter tackling many of the projects around the house. Now those projects can wait. Our only project that matters is helping Beau heal and getting him home.

It's difficult for us to ask for help, especially because Beau has always been the one offering it. But with a long recovery ahead and so much uncertainty about when he will be able to return to work, we know we can't do this alone.

The funds raised through this campaign will help with Beau's medical expenses and our everyday living expenses while he continues to heal.

After 22 years of marriage, I know how strong my husband is. I also know he has a fight ahead of him, and I'll be beside him through every step of it.

Right now, my greatest wish is simply to bring Beau home to me, our three pups, and the home we've been building together. The projects can wait. What matters is having Beau home, healing, joking, and being himself again.
