Hi everyone, my name is Jody Lay, and I am writing this story for my husband, Brian.

On July 23, 2026, Brian called to tell me he had been in a motorcycle accident. Hearing his voice brought an overwhelming sense of relief. I thanked God that he was able to make that call, knowing the situation could have been so much worse.

Brian was involved in a motorcycle accident after colliding with another vehicle that ran a red-light turning lane. The impact threw him from his motorcycle, leaving him with painful injuries and a patient road to recovery.

Brian suffered an elbow fracture, along with painful injuries to his pelvis, right thigh, knees, both ankles, and muscles throughout his body. While we are incredibly thankful his injuries were not life-threatening, his recovery will take time, patience, and faithful perseverance.

Brian and I have been married for two wonderful years, and I have the privilege of seeing every day the incredible man that he is. Brian is an Iraqi combat veteran who proudly served our country, and that same spirit of service continues to define the way he lives today. He has an honorable & loving warrior heart. He is always looking out for others, protecting those around him, and standing up for what is right. He loves his country, cherishes freedom, and above all, loves Jesus Christ. Brian is someone who both gives and earns respect wherever he goes. He is always the first one to help someone in need and the very last person to ask for help himself.

While we were at the hospital, one of Brian's close riding buddies, Mark, reminded us that crowdfunding is all about community—people coming together to lift someone up during one of life's most difficult moments. Those words gave us hope and ultimately inspired us to launch this HelpVy campaign.

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we believe that God has a plan, even when we don't always understand it. We are trusting Him to guide us through this difficult season, and we are incredibly grateful for any funds raised that will help with medical expenses and everyday living expenses while Brian focuses on healing and getting back on his feet.
