I never thought I would be in a position where I needed to ask other people for financial help, but everything changed for me on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

I had gone out for a motorcycle ride earlier that day and was heading home when I was involved in a serious accident. Everything happened incredibly fast. I was thrown from my motorcycle and taken by ambulance to the hospital.

I suffered several painful injuries, including a broken right wrist, a broken finger, a broken bone just below my right knee, torn ligaments in my right shoulder, and an injury to my lower back. I spent the night in the hospital, but after returning home, I knew something still wasn't right. I ended up going to another hospital, where I spent about eight more hours being evaluated and learned more about the extent of my injuries.

Right now, even getting around is difficult. I'm spending much of my time in bed while I wait for the swelling to go down enough for the orthopedic doctor to properly evaluate me and determine whether I will need surgery. Using crutches is difficult because of the torn ligaments in my shoulder, while my injured leg makes putting weight on the other side challenging too.

I'm a professional painter, working on homes as well as commercial projects, including hospitals and other buildings. Painting is physical work. I need my hands, wrists, shoulders, back, and legs every day to climb, carry equipment, reach, and do my job safely. With the injuries I'm dealing with right now, working simply isn't possible.

My son means the world to me, and I'm also grateful to have my girlfriend in my life supporting me through this difficult time. I'm used to taking care of myself and earning my own living, so being unable to work and not knowing exactly what the next several weeks or months will look like has been hard.

That's why I'm starting this HelpVy campaign. The funds raised will help with my medical expenses and everyday living expenses while I recover and work toward being physically able to return to painting.

I'm taking my recovery one day at a time and hoping the doctors will soon have a clearer picture of what comes next.
